EXP3: Moving Elements



An internal elevator provides access to the extension from the square house below. It serves as a discrete entry point, highlighting the notion that the building above is simply a continuation of the square house.


The upper gallery has movable sun shelters over the floor to ceiling glass walls.  The movement of the sun shield further highlights organic growth and change and would be used to protect the gallery from sunlight. It also serves to emphasise the structure of the building - organic curves melding into rectangular prisms.
